Enhorabuena Diana

¡Enhorabuena!

 Christmas of forgotten lights

In a small village, named Snowy Valley, surrounded by snow-covered forests, there lived an old man named Elijah. Elijah had dedicated his life to collecting old lanterns that people no longer wanted. He carefully repaired them and stored them in his small shop. Although the people of the village did not understand his fascination with these forgotten lights, but Elijah knew that each lantern had its own story behind it.

One Christmas Eve, while everyone was having a joyful dinner with their families, a heavy snowstorm hit the village, leaving everyone without electricity. A chilling wind blew through the trees, blowing the snow that had accumulated in the alleys of the small town. As people assembled in the central square and hugged each other to fight the cold, Elijah was quick to execute a plan to light up Christmas in a unique way.

With his collection of lanterns, Elijah illuminated every street and alley in Snowy Valley. Some lanterns were rescued from dusty attics, while others were donated by generous neighbours who did not fully understand Elijah's passion but believed in his vision. Each light took on a special glow, as if thankful for a second chance to illuminate the darkness. As the lanterns illuminated the streets, the stories printed on them came to life. The soft light they gave off showed the shadows of the moments they shared, from a happy wedding to a stormy night when the light guided to a lost home. The villagers were surprised to discover that their lives were somehow connected to these forgotten lights.

As the lantern light danced across the snow, the village was immersed in a magical and cosy atmosphere. People realised that, although there was no electricity, this Christmas would be unforgettable thanks to Elijah's forgotten lights.

Elijah, with his coat frayed and his face creased with age, watched with satisfaction as the magic of the lanterns spread through the city. Those who were initially sceptical now embraced the warmth of the flickering lights and found consolation in the stories emanating from each lantern. Suddenly, a mysterious light appeared in the sky, it attracted everyone's attention and seemed destined to stop over Elijah's small shop. Then the paper lanterns began to emit a divine glow. It was as if the universe itself recognised the importance of preserving stories and creating unforgettable moments.

In the town square, people formed a circle and sang together Christmas carols while the lights seemed to be dancing with them. It was a Christmas scene that illuminated not only the town, but also the hearts of all present. Since that night, the tradition of illuminating the town with lanterns has become a widely anticipated annual event. Elijah became a kind of living legend, and his once unnoticed little shop became a symbol of the magic that happens when forgotten things are given a second chance. Every year, in the flickering light of the lanterns, the people of Snowy Valley remember and create new stories celebrating Christmas with a special brightness that could only come from Elijah's forgotten lanterns.
